BIBLE TEACHING

Picture

Each year, two of our directors go out to the Busoga region of Uganda where they spend several weeks ministering in churches and conferences. The purpose of these visits is to provide strong Spirit-filled biblical preaching to encourage and edify the saints. The messages they bring focus on the centrality and all-sufficiency of Christ, the Spirit-filled life, dying to self etc. Our directors work with a regional overseer in Uganda together with his assistants.

Pastors looking after churches in remote areas can easily get dry and discouraged, so a visit from our team can really give a boost that can last a long time. Some of the churches are really off the beaten track, and they are amazed to find us willing to visit them.

We have been delighted to find how sound and faithful the churches and pastors are. There is a lack of excess and a real adherence to the Word of God. All-night prayer meetings, regular fasts, meetings every night of the week are all common features of these churches.

Uganda is still in the blessing of the East African revival that has been going on for about eighty years. The churches need preserving from false teaching, such as the prosperity gospel, which is emanating from the west. Our directors, who are so revival focused, give the kind of teaching that the people are thirsting for.
